Rave Reviews for our April 2010 Roundhouse Exhibition
From the moment the doors opened at 11am on the morning of April 29th, the crowds began pouring in. They came to preview ‘Jump Start’, Artists in Our Midst, Opening Exhibition at the Roundhouse in Yaletown.
Throughout the day, throngs of visitors filed through the 6,000 square foot exhibition hall of this exquisite heritage site. This included tours that were conducted for local school groups, college art classes, and seniors from nearby Neighbourhood Houses. All were there to savour the local art scene.
At 6pm the hall was filled to capacity for the gala opening reception. Acclaimed jazz pianist, Bob Murphy played to a full house, and eager young volunteers served canapés, art enthusiasts enjoyed the offerings of 51 of Vancouver’s talented local artists.
We wish to thank all of our wonderful sponsors and supporters for making this the most successful and well-attended Opening of Artists in Our Midst’s 18 year run.
Thanks as well to all who attended our Open-Studio Tours that followed on May 1st & 2nd.
We hope to see you all again in April 2011.
